Website Design

What can I expect from our initial consultation?

We will be discussing your website objectives, and the functions and features that your site needs to clearly communicate your business proposition.  This information gathering will be translated into a formal proposal, detailing all aspects of your future website, costs, and time to complete.

How long will it take for you to build my website?

That depends on how extensive your website is, the number and nature of included features, and the amount of content that you have to provide.  The average time frame for a 6-page static website is 1.5 weeks.

How many people are going to work on my website?

At least three people are always involved in the development of your website; a project manager, a designer, and a developer.  Additional staff is inserted into the project on an as needed basis.

What are my responsibilities during the website design project?

Your primary responsibility will be to provide us with website content.  Content includes items like text, logo, company colors, images of your products, descriptions of your products, and product pricing.  The website is yours and you control what goes into it.  We provide a professional design, and all the features and functions that bring your site to life.

I am not close to your offices.  Can you still design and build my website?

Absolutely!  In fact, we have clients all over the world.  Working with you via email and phone calls is all we need to build and design your website.

How do I know my website is being built the way that I want?

We provide you with online access to your website as it is being developed.  This allows you to provide continuous feedback to our developer(s) throughout the process, and ensures that your site will be built to your satisfaction.

What do I need to be able to sell products securely on my website?

The first thing you need is a merchant account provided by a financial institution that allows your website to accept payment transactions in real time, via credit cards, and other common payment methods.  You will also need an SSL certificate obtained through certified providers that will protect the privacy of the payment data, such as the credit card number of the purchaser.  Axcel will assist you in obtaining these facilities.

What else do I need?

You will also need a domain name for your website to be registered by an appropriate authority.  This makes your website name yours, and prevents anyone else from using the same name.  Axcel will assist you in finding the most appropriate, available name for your business, register it, and manage the renewal of your domain registration.

Marketing back to top

How quickly can I expect results?

Obtaining high search engine rankings for your website is a continuous process, employing techniques designed to get your website onto the top pages of search results.  There are many variables that determine how quickly these techniques work, such as the level of competition of your industry, and the particular marketing package that you choose.  Most websites become “visible” on search results within 30-60 days.

How can I get my website ranked high, immediately?

We offer our Top Spot program, which employs pay-per-click marketing programs, to give you immediate visibility on the first page of search results.

How long do I need to have my website marketed?

Marketing your website is a continuous process.  Keywords are regularly researched to reflect current Internet usage, and adjusted accordingly for re-submission to all major search engines.  Any other techniques employed in marketing, such as satellite sites, doorway pages, and inbound links, are also being regularly refined to provide optimum results.  Marketing inactivity will result in gradual erosion of top search engine rankings.

What is my involvement in website marketing?

Our marketing specialist will contact you to discuss your business, your products, and your services.  You will assist us in developing keywords that properly relate to your offering, and reflect the most common terms that people will use when searching for your products and services.

What are keywords?

Keywords are the terms most commonly used by Internet users to search for product and services.  Our marketing specialists research your industry to develop the most effective keywords to submit to all the major search engines, such as Yahoo, and Google.

What is a search engine?

Search engines are Internet software services from people like Yahoo and Google that sort and categorize specific keywords used to describe information and location on the Internet. Search engines allow retail customers to locate Websites based on keywords.

Hosting back to top

Why do I need hosting?

Once a website is built, it has to be placed on a server that is connected to the Internet in order for users to have access.  Axcel will place your website on a secure server in one of its data centers, where it will be connected via high-speed bandwidth to the outside world, namely, the Internet.

Will my site be up 100% of the time?

No one can guarantee 100% up time.  Equipment failures, and bandwidth service interruption are unavoidable.  In order to maintain optimum recovery capability, scheduled maintenance is also required for short periods during which your website may be unavailable, or slow in coming up.  Axcel uses only the highest and most reliable equipment to host your website, along with world class data center management, ensuring the maximum up time for your site.

Who do I contact when my site is down?

If a problem occurs, Axcel’s support staff will probably know about it before you do.  We constantly monitor website availability for all out clients, and quickly take appropriate pro-active action to remedy any problem.  In addition, our support staff is always available to take your call on any problem you may be experiencing with your site.

If my website is currently hosted by someone other than Axcel, can I move it to your facility?

Most hosting contracts allow the customer to move their site to another hosting provider.  We will provide all the services required to seamlessly migrate your site to our hosting environment.  Many of our customers have moved their sites to our facilities from other, less reliable providers.

IT Servicesback to top

How soon will someone be available if my equipment goes down?

If you have a maintenance contract with Axcel, a qualified technician will be dispatched to your offices within hours.

Do you have to come to my offices to fix my problem?

Yes and no.  If Axcel is provided with remote access to your system, we can normally diagnose the problem from our offices.  Depending on the nature of the outage, it may be possible to fix from our offices.  If resolution requires on-site services, a technician will be dispatched to your offices.

How do I feel confident that Axcel understands my environment?

Upon execution of any IT services contract, Axcel personnel will sit down with the appropriate people in your offices to collect all the data necessary to develop a thorough understanding of your hardware and software architecture.  A complete profile of your technology infrastructure is maintained in our offices in order for any of our technicians to quickly understand your environment.

Can I purchase equipment from Axcel?

Absolutely!  Axcel uses its purchasing power and its expertise to provide you with the most cost-effective equipment to meet your needs.  Our philosophy is to procure “right-sized” hardware for your business.  Unlike some services providers, we will not recommend hardware that exceeds what you need to efficiently run your business.
